The game follows Laufey, also known as Faye, after she awakens in a strange afterlife realm following her death. To protect Kratos and Atreus, she travels through the Everywhen, an afterlife of the gods where deities from different mythologies compete for power. The game shifts the focus from Kratos to Faye and features sword-based combat, magic, and new supporting characters.
